WHAT ARE INVERTER AND WHAT IS THEIR USE?

The basic function of an inverter is to convert the direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) using a particular frequency and voltage.
Let's see an example: we have to run an appliance in AC 230V ( with a frequency of 50Hz , but we do not have AC power from the national grid. Thanks to an inverter, we can transform our direct current produced by our PV system into alternating current, which is used by our appliances.
The inverters are used for both on-grid PV and off-grid PV.

Types of electric wave

There are basically three types of waves and many types of inverter.

1. squarewave inverter (used only for resistive loads - that is constituted by a resistance, such as the home oven, the heater and the bulbs);
2. modified sine wave inverter (used for capacitive loads - a capacitive load is formed by capacitors, that is components that can accumulate electrical charge and maintain it over time even in the absence of power). This type of wave is well suited to provide energy to most electrical and electronic equipment such as incandescent lamps, radios, computers and notebooks, televisions, VCRs, video games, microwave ovens, etc.;
3. pure sine wave inverter (this type of wave is equal to the power wave of our home network, and can be used for any electrical appliance/electronics).
